Southern Gospel Night in the Fork...

Whether you are a local or a visitor to Williamson County, the unincorporated town of Leiper's Fork is a must. Nestled in the south west corner of the county, this town has all the grace and southern charm the South is so noted for. Talent is certainly no stranger to this area, as many of Country Music's finest entertainers and the cream-of-the-crop musicians call the secluded hills of this rural area home. Located just a stones throw from the Natchez Trace Parkway, and miles from the hustle and bustle of Metro Nashville this is an area to visit for those who love good Southern hospitality. Leiper's Fork has some of the county's best eateries, antique and art shops in this neck of the woods.

The area is abounds with musical talent, so, it is not unusual to see local artists such as Wynona or Naomi pop in to do an impromptu gig at Puckett's Grocery or perform at the open air theater just a stones throw off the main drag. Last night, the town was treated to a free concert by the Palmetto State Quartet, one of the oldest Southern Gospel Groups in the Nation. Having originated in the "Palmetto State" (South Carolina), this group has entertained folks since 1946. Some of the older members of the group have played on stage with such greats as Elvis (deeply rooted in southern gospel). This group is celebrating 6 decades of entertaining folks with fantastic, toe tapping, hand clapping, traditional Southern Gospel music. Having long been a fan of Southern Gospel myself, this concert was on my list of things to do tonight. Needless to say, what a treat is was to be entertained for free by this extremely talented group of artists. The cost of the concert and the groups expenses were paid by one of the local music patrons of this community.

Almost every weekend, there is a free concert in this area. Check the local website for a list of concerts. Stop by, rest a spell and enjoy the local atmosphere that only Leiper's Fork, TN can provide. This short 2 minute and 42 sec video is but a snapshot of the almost 90 minute concert. I hope that you enjoy the montage clips.

Y'all have a G-r-r-r-reat Sunday... ;-)

Video Listings... Why Don't Agent's Use Them?

Most of you that follow my posts, know that I am constantly thinking out of the box and throwing in my 2¢'s worth every chance I get. Well, the other day, I coerced, fellow ActiveRain members Ellen Anderson and Aileen Schwendimann, kicking and screaming to my studio office to do a video presentation of one of their listings. (not really) Although nervous at first, they soon settled down and got into the act (literally and figuratively).

Although, video presentations such as this are really nothing new, I do not see a lot of real estate agents use this cutting edge technology to promote themselves, their customers or their listings. As we all know, Google ♡'s videos and gives a lot of juice to these. Because ActiveRain is a great sounding board, I would really appreciate your feedback as we all need all the help we can get. Thanks...

Have a great Saturday, Y'all... 8-)

RE:Water Stains...

As some of you may know, I am starting to do a series of videos about some common issues found during home inspections. I do want to take this opportunity to thank those who have been responding to these. In response to one of the questions asked, "How do you repair water stains?", I have came up with this video. Enjoy - No tomato throwing allowed...

Have a great Tuesday, Y'all... 8-)

Water Stains Don't Have to be a Deal Killer...

Some new home buyers and their agents really freak out when it comes to seeing water stains on the ceiling. In my ongoing series of videos "Helping YOU Live YOUR American Dream" I address this in my short 70 second video. I would greatly appreciate your input as to other series you feel may be helpful to you and your clients...

Wednesday's Thoughts - My 2¢'s Worth

One of the reasons that I got and set up a new off site office was so that I could have a place to do videos. After a lot of work over the past few days, I finally got my studio set up and late this afternoon, I shot a test video to test the system. As most of us know, many folks do not have a clue of what a home inspection is about or why they even need one. I plan to start a series of videos that may help your clients understand the reason they need a qualified inspector to inspect their prospective new homes.

I do plan to reshoot this video and polish it up. I would appreciate your input as to whether you feel that this series would be helpful.

90 second video.

Have a great humpday, Y'all... 8-)

Bless the Beasts and the Children...

As I was putting together a special photo album for some folks that work with inner city children, I realize how much I love taking pictures - especially of children. Some folks say I have a gift to be able to blend in with the background and take the candid shots. I don't really know. Maybe I am just lucky. Lucky to be at the right place at the right time... Lucky to be able to see what others take for granted. Whatever the case, I am so grateful that I have this gift to be able to share with the world.

At a special graduation for inner city children a few weeks ago, I was blessed with the opportunity to be able to take some wonderful photos of some very, very special children that participated in the graduation ceremonies.

Children, who would not be able to get a start in this life if it were not for the dedication of some wonderful individuals to take their time to believe that all children, rich or poor, are our hope and our future. Children are so full of life, so full of potential, so full of hope. I hope that we can all help them fulfill their hopes and and we can all have pleasant dreams...

Leaving a Legacy...

Today, the media is all abuzz about the "legacy" of the "King of Pop" will leave behind. While, paying tribute to his life's accomplishments and how he affected the music and entertainment world, is warranted, how about the legacy of our Founding Fathers?

I have read several posts, similar to the one that Richard Weisser wrote this morning, about the hardships, steadfast determination, and overcoming the superior forces to forge a brave new Nation under God. I urge all true Americans to take but a few moments to reflect back on the Legacy and freedoms that these brave souls left us. Freedoms that not too many in this world enjoy.

The freedom to speak our mind without reprisal from the government.

The freedom to worship where and when we choose.

The freedom to bear arms. Just to name a few...

Nevertheless, I really wonder how many folks today, would "lay it all on the line", like our brave Founding Fathers did so that generations afterward would reap the rewards of their pain, suffering and hardships. To me, that is the true meaning of leaving a legacy. What are your thoughts of this Fourth of July...
