Michael's View: Has Office Met its Match?

Has Office Met its Match?

As the battle between Microsoft and Apple continues for market share of the PC world, Apple continues to develop new and better software to compete with the PC world as well. Mac's new iWork 08 is a great program full of graphics that's sure to leave the boys at Microsoft scratching their heads. I like Mac's try before you buy policy. You can download a full functioning version for a free trial period before you have to purchase. The price for the suite is $79.00! A fraction of the price of Office. The beauty of the program is that it is fully compatible with Office.

There is something to be said to once going Mac no going back...

I love mac, but am stuck with a PC for the time being. However, I must say, that the new PC commercials are pretty good. They have finally found a come back for the, "Hi, I'm a Mac" and "I'm a PC" commercials that have been running the airwaves for the past year or so. Off topic, but that's the kinda girl I am... :)

Ever since Pilar got her iPhone seeing the HUGE benefits of it from a business standpoint, I have been thinking of looking at a MAC next time I need a laptop.

I love Macs and would switch in a heart beat if the rest of the world was using them. Unfortunately I still deal with a lot of incompatibilities.

The real issue is which languages are required to functing well in the business world.  It's English and PC, no getting around that.  Now with my French ancestry, it would be fun if French worked but unfortunately it doesn't.

I don't have a Mac but Rush Limbaugh does and speaks very highly of them.  I think that they are more and more respected now, especially since the iphone has become the most popular phone in the world, (according to my AT&T guy).

The MAC's don't have the virus problems that the windows/microsoft programs are inundated with!  This is my biggest problem and my next computer will be a MAC.

Morning Michael,

Glad you and Mac are getting on so well. They sure have come a long way!

By the way, our Mac user training classes are about to begin here in town! You ask some time ago, just thought I would let you know.

I heard if you want graphics, Aplle is the way to go. I would love to buy one of them, but I heard that the software isn't always compatiable and I am an IBM girl from day one, might be a tough switch to make. hmmmmmmmmmmmm laptops too?

I love my Mac despite the fact that Rush Limbaugh has one.  Jeff Turner has in one of his recent posts touts the efficency of iWorks08... I have been avoiding it, since I already have Photoshop, Word, Excell... etc... but his review was so strong, that I have downloaded the 30 trial, and am playing with it... so far, it's good.

Great graphics, and wonderful automatic photo treatments...

Viva La Mac!
